Spooktacular Tips for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!
Our family’s favorite Halloween event is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom Park! This special ticketed event runs on certain dates in August through the beginning of November. At the party, you can trick or treat at different stops throughout the park, see special characters, and even wear your favorite costume to the party!
Last year, our family attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party on our trip while staying at Art of Animation Resort. We decided to go with Star Wars themed family costumes. I dressed as Princess Leia, Dan was Han Solo, Bella was Rey, and Natalie was (the perfect, in my opinion) BB-8! We had a great time going as a family and got tons of compliments on our costumes!
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is one of our favorite special events to attend. We love the ease of attending the party and all of the unique aspects of the party that aren’t available during regular park hours! Here are some quick tips, to help you make the most out of your party time!
1) Arrive early and ride a few rides!
The party officially begins at 7pm, but you can enter Magic Kingdom part at 4pm with your special party ticket. This is a great time to grab a bite to eat or have a bit of extra ride time, before the party kicks off!
2) Wear your favorite costumes!
Dressing up is one of our favorite parts about going to the Halloween Party! Adults and kids alike all are able to trick or treat in costumes, and it makes for a special experience for the entire family!
3) Make sure to try the special “party-only” treats!
Disney has lots of great food options and during their party nights, there are special “party only” treats that are available! Don’t forget to leave room at dinner so you can treat yourself to one of these desserts!
4) Make sure to stop at the picture spots during the party!
There are a number of special photo opportunities during party hours, including fun props, magic shots, and more. Take advantage of these and use your Photo Pass to view the photos from your phone after they are taken!
5) Don’t miss the special party parade and fireworks!
The special entertainment of the evening on party nights includes Happy Hallowishes fireworks, Boo to You Parade, and Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular stage show. The Boo to You parade has become one of our family favorites and we always stake out a spot in Frontierland, where the parade begins. The Happy Hallowishes fireworks are brilliant from all around the park, but we most often watch them from in front of the castle in the viewing area or from Fantasyland. Both areas have a great view of the fireworks.
