We are headed to Walt Disney World this summer, and needless to say – it is HOT in Florida during the summer! Going during the summer can be a great time to take your trip, for many families it is the best time to go because the kids are off of school and it may be an easier time to take off of work, however battling the heat is definitely something you’ll want to plan for before your arrival. Especially if you’re not used to a hot or humid climate!
Check out lots of great items on our Amazon Affiliate Disney Travel Ideas List!
Temperatures in Orlando average in the 80s-90s Fahrenheit during the summer months, and with an increase in precipitation it is quite a humid climate as well. Wearing light and airy clothing that wicks away moisture is a good wardrobe plan, as well as shoes that are breathable. I prefer to wear light weight running shoes that add support, but aren’t too heavy on my feet.
On our must buy list, I found some awesome fans from Amazon (check out my affiliate link to purchase) that are Mickey inspired! These have three different fan blade speeds and also include a cool LED light that the kids love. They seem to be keeping a long charge, and charge via a USB cord, so we can charge them on the go with our portable charger.
We also purchased cooling towels on one of our past Walt Disney World vacations, and they were a MUST in my book! We really like the Disney Parks version that you can get inside the theme parks, but if you want to purchase one before you go – Amazon has a ton of those as well!
Sometime that has been really indispensable on our trips, that I’ve found over my many years of filming our Disney Vacations for our YouTube channel, is that carabiner clips are a MUST HAVE on a Disney vacation! They have saved my camera from many a fall, after one early trip where I DID drop my camera. I hit upon always having a backup camera along on my trips and also connecting my vlogging camera to a lanyard via a carabiner clip. This trick has worked like magic (no pun intended) and saved my cameras for years!
We also use carabiner clips for a number of other uses while traveling, and in my hacks video – I share how you can use them to connect luggage, hold your Disney Resort drink cups, and more!
I love this Mickey shaped one from Petunia Picklebottom, and it is one we will be using on our upcoming trip!
I recently also shared some of my favorite Disney Hacks on my YouTube Channel, that you need to know before your next trip!

Hopefully with all of these helpful hacks above, you can have the best Disney day ever!
