In a recent video, I shared some of my best tips for shopping and SAVING at Target!
It’s no secret that Target is one of my favorite places to shop – but after shopping there for years, I’ve picked up a few tricks to help save money while shopping there. A lot of times, I feel like I’ve even getting the lowest price possible! Know that you should definitely price check items that you are purchasing in the store on the Target app, for a number of reasons!
When you check the price, if there is a lower price on the Target app – the Target cashier in store will automatically correct your in-store item to the lower price. Also, you should be scanning each of the items you’re planning on purchasing in the Target app to see if it is on the Target Circle deals page! I save money each trip, just by scanning the items already in my cart to add on extra coupons and percent off savings.
Over the years, this has added up to over a THOUSAND dollars in savings! (Yes no typo there!) The best thing is that I can do this all right from my smart phone that I always have with me. So it is easy to remember! I also save an additional 5% because each time I shop at Target, I check out with my Target Red Debit card. This is a free card that I signed up for years ago, that just debits the money straight out of our account like a regular debit card – but each time that you it online or in-store, you receive an additional 5% off your purchase! This is a great way to rack up additional savings!
I also shop sales and deals that I know are going to be happening throughout the year, and stock up on items when I know they are at their lowest price. Around Christmas time, the Our Generation doll line always usually has a “Buy One, Get One Half Off” sale – and with multiple girls, it is a great way to get gifts for both kids and save a bundle!
When the girls were babies, I also used to use the “Up & Up” baby line for a lot of their items, and also get a lot of their clothing from the Cat & Jack (what used to be Circo) brand as well! These items typically have some kind of additional incentive in the Target Circle area on the app when you purchase them, so make sure to definitely scan items from these brands when you’re in the store!
We also get great food deals by purchasing the Target brands, Market Pantry and Good & Gather, which a lot of times have additional savings on Target Circle too. We’ve found that in a lot of cases, we actually prefer these store brands and for some items – like the Good & Gather fruit strips – they are really the only comparable item on the shelves! A good amount of our household items have also been the Threshold brand, which generally carries well made and style current items.
I hope this video is helpful to learn some new hacks to shopping and SAVING money at Target!
