We got a better look at the Disney Wish this week and I’m looking forward to the dates when Castaway Club members can book their cruise on one of the maiden voyages of the new cruise ship!
The newest addition to the Disney Cruse Line fleet, the Disney Wish comes with all new amenities and experiences that the whole family will love!
Every inch of the ship was reimagined and Disney does what it does best – by creating an incredibly detailed and immersive experience that takes cruising to the next level. Our family has been on four Disney cruises so far, and I cannot wait to go on our fifth cruise! At four cruises, our current Castaway Club status is Silver, and on our next cruise we are due to become Gold Castaway Club members! Perks include onboard gifts, earlier access to booking excursions, and earlier access to booking new cruises as well, when you reach the higher Castaway Club tiers!
Inside the Disney Wish
The inside of the Disney Wish is beautifully modern and one word really sums it up… stunning. From the grand atrium to refreshing guest rooms, the entire ship has a bright and airy feel to it. Cinderella adorns the main atrium hall, and there are plenty of Disney Princess touches throughout the ship.
Look at how incredible that is! It’s like stepping into a fairy tale!
Room options will include configurations that frequent cruisers are familiar with, including rooms with verandahs, inside rooms, and rooms with ocean portholes. One new addition are the grand suite rooms, with amazing flair and one is even the first TWO story suite on a Disney Cruise ship. This room will certainly be out of our personal price range for cruising, but I love looking at the photos of the suites and their details!
The rooms more in our price range are pretty incredible as well. We have cruised most recently in the Verandah rooms, that have both a Queen bed and pull down ceiling bunk beds. You can see the similar configuration in this room, with a whole new style and lots of great princess touches!
Kids Clubs
One of our kids’ favorite parts of being on a Disney Cruise is that they can get a bit of independence and spend times at the kids clubs doing their own activities! This works great, because my husband and I get some alone time to enjoy dinners and shows, and then we can come together for family time as well! It is a win-win-win!
The Oceaneer Club has a ton of amazing updates, including a SLIDE IN entrance??? I can’t wait to see how that ones works out! After the kids arrive, the magic continues with activities from Disney Imagineering, Marvel Studios, Disney Princess, and Star Wars! There’s always a lot of activities to keep the kids busy in the kids clubs.
Dining
On the ship there will be all new dining options, one of the most exciting being a new Frozen themed restaurant. If you’ve seen our YouTube videos, you know my younger daughter Natalie is a complete Frozen FAN. Her room has been decorated in Frozen (multiple times), she’s dressed as Elsa for Halloween at least 3 times now, and we always make a point to visit the Frozen attractions at EPCOT.
When she receives the news that there is an Elsa and Anna themed restaurant on the new Disney Wish?? That is going to completely put it over the top for her. I’m not going to be able to tell her until 2022, so if you see us out at Disney Parks – keep that one under wraps!
It looks incredible!
For the adults, there are also a number of exclusive experiences as well – but I have to mention the first Star Wars themed BAR at sea. This looks like the ultimate date night hangout for Star Wars nerds like my husband and myself, so saying we are excited about this part is a major understatement.
The Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge is an out of this world experience at sea… with stellar decor and a full panel wall that immerses you in an outer space view. I imagine that is going to be pretty trippy combined with the motion of the ship if you’re out to sea! Looking forward to experiencing this one!
Onboard Entertainment
Disney cruises always have amazing entertainment and the Disney Wish will have its own set of shows aboard the ship. Disney’s Aladdin will be a full stage production and I love watching the performers pull off amazing feature shows – all while in the middle of the sea on a cruise ship! I think that takes a special talent and looking forward to seeing the spectacular detail that will go into the costuming, sets, and production.
Pools & Water Activities
Saving one of my favorites for last, one of the things on the ship our family enjoys the most are the ship pools and water slides. On the larger Disney Dream, we love the AquaDuck slide that goes around the exterior of Deck 11. The Disney Wish takes it to the next level, with an all new water slide that is not only a water activity – but the first ATTRACTION at sea!
The AquaMOUSE is a new water slide attraction that combines Disney’s expertise of attraction entertainment with water slides and takes you on an incredible journey and story, around the edges of the ship.
I’m sure our family will spend a lot of time out on the decks enjoying all of the different water activities! There’s also a whole splash pad area themed after Toy Story!
How to Book
Bookings begin for the public on May 27, 2021. If you happen to be a Castaway Club member or DVC member, there is a schedule of the different dates that each tier can book on.
From the Disney Cruise website:
I recommend booking early for 2022 sailings, as I expect this ship to fill up quickly! Visit the Disney Cruise Line website, for more information on Disney Wish itineraries and how to book!
I’m hopeful our family’s fifth cruise will be aboard the Disney Wish, and we will be sure to bring you cruising vlogs on our YouTube channel on the next cruise we go on! Make sure you subscribe to Being Mommy with Style on YouTube to get notified of all of our latest videos!
