Fall is almost here and it is the perfect time to make some DIY projects around the house! One of my favorite things in fall is enjoying the scents of the season, including apple, cinnamon, and pumpkin spice scented items! Making your own soap at home is a great way to make something special for your household to enjoy and celebrate the new season!

DIY soap is easy to make and all of the ingredients are easy to find. I’ve linked some items below from Amazon, but you can also find similar items in local grocery or sundry stores near you.
Supplies:
- ¾ lb goat’s milk melt and pour soap base
- ⅛ – ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- 5 drops cinnamon fragrance oil
- 15 drops apple fragrance oil
- Square or other decorative soap mold
- 4 cup microwave safe measuring cup
- Wooden craft stick or spoon for stirring
Once you’ve gathered your supplies you’re ready to begin making your soap.
Directions:
- Cut the soap base into one inch cubes and place into measuring cup.
- Heat in the microwave on high in 30 second bursts, stirring between each heating session, until the soap base is fully melted.
- Add the cinnamon, then stir well, until fully blended.
- Add the fragrance oils and stir well.
- Pour the soap into the molds, and allow to set, undisturbed, for 2 hours.
- Unmold.
These come out beautifully and even would make a wonderful gift! You can try a variety of molds to make soaps in different shapes and sizes, and even make character specific soaps as well!

As you can see, these soaps turn out beautiful and are perfect to give as a gift to set out in a guest bathroom for guests to enjoy. I love the simplicity of this craft and I’m planning on trying some different scent versions during the fall and winter to try out different combinations. You can even do this craft with older kids, and let them pick their own scents and colors to add to the mold!
If you’re short on time, check out these pre-made cinnamon apple soap bars that make a great gift! Mrs. Meyers also makes a lovely liquid hand soap in a festive apple cider scent as well!
