Thanks to JAKKS Pacific for sending us these awesome Rapunzel items to check out for the holiday season!
Rapunzel is one of our favorite Disney princesses! We love her spunky and inquisitive nature of finding her own way. The girls have always enjoyed Tangled, and visiting Rapunzel is one of our favorite stops when we are at Walt Disney World!
This holiday season, JAKKS has made kid sized Rapunzel fun to put under the tree! Playdate Rapunzel and Playdate Maximus are the perfect gifts for Rapunzel fans to feel like they are in the middle of the movie Tangled while playing with this duo! Playdate Rapunzel stands 32 inches tall, and has hair that runs almost the full length of her height. Playdate Maximus is large enough to sit on and also makes different sounds based on his movement!
The set goes great together and the girls enjoyed interacting with both toys at the same time. We also received Rapunzel’s Tower Vanity, which I will review in a separate post and video so check those out as well, and they interacted between all three toys when playing. The vanity fits in nicely with play, since both Rapunzel and Maximus have long strands of hair to braid. The girls enjoyed playing with their hair and giving them “hairdos”, so the set is great for girls that enjoy working with hair.
Playdate Rapunzel comes with a removable dress, shoes, tiara, and brush. Her arms and neck area are articulated to create lifelike, posable play for children.
Natalie especially gravitated towards Playdate Rapunzel and enjoyed that they were “almost the same size”!
Playdate Maximus is the perfect companion for Rapunzel, and is big enough for kids to sit on with a weight limit of 70 pounds. Maximus responds with motion and sound when you pull on the reins and feed him an apple! He comes with a hair brush and a number of hair clips to accessorize his hair!
Both girls loved Maximus, and both were still the right size to sit on him. (At time of review, Natalie is 6 and small for her age, Isabella is age 8 and average height. Both girls are well within the 70 pound weight limit, as they are both in the mid-40 pound range.) Maximus seemed very sturdy and sitting on him seemed no issue for a child within the 40-50 pound weight range. Natalie especially loved pretending she was galloping along, and Bella took to braiding his hair to put clips in!
The retail price on Playdate Rapunzel is $59.99 and she comes with accessories as shown. Retail on Maximus is slightly steeper, at $99.99, however it is a big toy and has gotten a lot of play at our house. The vanity is a great compliment to this set, and I would say that Maximus is our top pick from the three because he’s so unique. We’ve never had a toy quite like this one!
