Shark Cleaning must have heard that we had a new pup around the house, and sent us two new vacuums to see if they were up to the challenges of day to day life with kids and a dog! We’re lucky, because Penguin doesn’t shed a TON – but he does drop hairs and that’s where the brush heads on both the Shark APEX Duo Clean and Shark Ion F80 come in handy!
Shark Cleaning Vacuums
Both vacuums were up to the task of of easily picking up dirt, hair, and carpet fibers that were left behind from previous vacuuming sessions. (Seriously, you have no idea that you’re missing so much until you go behind it with a powerful vacuum like these!) The suction on the Shark APEX Duo Clean vacuum was powerful and if you catch a throw rug corner, it will take up the whole thing – BUT, it also picked up dirt that had been ground in to the just recently vacuumed rug. So the trade off is worth the extra clean.
The Shark APEX Duo Clean can be used as either a canister style vacuum or a traditional upright, and the parts on it easily click into place. I was impressed with the engineering and sturdy design of the vacuum, and also impressed with the smaller powered pet brush head attachment that would be perfect for stairs or smaller places.
My favorite out of the two has to be the Shark ION F80 though, this little cordless vac is perfect for hard to reach places. It’s light, it’s agile, and it still has quite the impressive picking up power.

I can already tell, I’m going to be using this cordless vacuum a LOT. The handiness of not having to plug in a cord is great and it came with two batteries, so you can always have one charged up and ready to go! It powered through cleaning Natalie’s bedroom floor like a champ, and again picked up dirt and fibers that I didn’t realize were there!
I also love the convenient storage of the Ion, the top handle folds down on the vacuum and it sits neatly taking up just a small corner in the cleaning cabinet!
